Across the road from the Village is the recently renovated award-winning Sunshine Beach Surf Club which offers impressive and uninterrupted ocean views, perfect for spotting the humpback whales passing from June to October.
Noosa is recognised as a UNESCO biosphere reserve, this chic coastal town is surrounded by bay, beach, National Park and river. Visitors to Noosa love to swim at Noosa Main Beach, surf the Noosa World Surfing Reserve, walk the Noosa National Park’s stunning forest and coastal trails or picnic as the sun sets over the hinterland behind the river mouth. Noosa ferry’s custom-built classic riverboats cruise between Hastings Street, Noosaville and Tewantin (Noosa Marina) with seven stops along the Noosa River with a one-way trip taking about 40 minutes.
Tewantin is a quiet, village-style suburb situated along the Noosa River from Noosaville which features a pedestrian-friendly main street renowned for its striking Poinciana trees showcasing vibrant orange-red flowers during the summer months. Originally established as a timber town and serving as the river port for the Noosa region, Tewantin is home to the vehicular ferry connecting to Noosa’s North Shore and Fraser Island, as well as the Noosa Marina, a hub for riverfront shops and restaurants, and host to weekly craft and produce markets.
Inland from Noosa and popular for day trips is the Hinterland where green valleys are dotted with cafes, galleries, vintage stores, markets and historic pubs. Translink provide the convenience of bus travel all across the Sunshine Coast including Noosaville, Noosa Heads, Peregian Beach, Peregian Springs, Coolum, Maroochydore and Cooroy.
Travellers will require a Translink 'Go Card' - an electronic ticket for all Translink bus, train (including Airtrain), ferry and tram services in greater Brisbane, Ipswich, Sunshine Coast, and Gold Coast regions which must be purchased and topped up prior to travel. Please note: the ‘Go Noosa Weekends’ initiative offers free travel on weekends on Translink routes 626, 627, 628, 629 and 632 and the ‘Go Noosa Holidays’ initiative offers free travel during Christmas and Easter school holidays on select services including the popular 65 Go Noosa Loop Bus.
A railway line connects the region to Brisbane in the south, and Gympie and beyond, to the north. Transport between Brisbane Airport and the Sunshine Coast can also be accessed via the train to Beerwah, Landsborough or Nambour train stations.
