The Valley Shack started life in 1974 as a rambling, ad-hoc Aussie fishing shack. Owner-built and crumbling, it was a place to sleep after a long summer's day of fishing, splashing about in the clear water and looking for starfish along the many rock pools lining the cliffs of Second Valley.
The beach shack is an essential part of Australian holiday culture, with generation after generation creating memories of long days at the beach and even longer evenings filleting the day's catch, lounging about or playing cards.
We've given our shack an update, making it a little more comfortable, whilst staying true to the essence of Aussie holiday culture. Little nods here and there recalling the mismatched old chairs, formica tables and lino floors of the original. Still exuberant and as optimistic as the day it was built.
