The living area includes a 3-seater sofa, 2 occasional chairs, an ottoman, a 75" wall-mounted ‘smart’ TV, a dining table for 4 people and an office/study nook with a built-in bench desk. The kitchen features stone benches with lots of room for food prep, a breakfast bar and 2 stools, gas cooktop, wall-mounted oven and family-sized fridge . Off the kitchen you’ll find a dedicated laundry with a Miele washing machine and separate dryer. Glass sliding doors lead out to a huge north-facing balcony that runs the length of the apartment, offering a 4-seater table for alfresco dining, 2 outdoor lounge chairs and a gas barbecue connected to the mains, all set against tranquil views of parklands and Parliament House beyond.
The apartment comes with 2 carpeted bedrooms, both with block-out blinds, an occasional chair and glass sliding doors leading directly out to the balcony. The master bedroom has a ‘super’ king sized bed and a walk-through wardrobe that connects to an ensuite bathroom with stylish floor-to-ceiling stone tiling, 2 basins and a large shower recess with a frameless glass screen. The 2nd bedroom has a queen sized bed, built-in wardrobes and a study desk with electronic height adjustment. The apartment’s main bathroom also features floor-to-ceiling stone tiling and comes with a combined shower/bathtub.
The Neighborhood:
With its verdant gardens, Forrest is an upmarket suburb built to the original Canberra plans to feature wide streets set in circular and geometric patterns. The apartment itself is well located, only a 4 minute drive from Parliament House (or 15 minutes walk) making it an ideal base for government, business and leisure travel. It’s a 5 minute drive to the Manuka Terrace shopping hub, offering a Coles supermarket, eateries and specialist shops. The Calvary John James Hospital, National Gallery of Australia, National Portrait Gallery, National Museum and the Old Bus Dept Markets are also only 5 minutes away by car, with Canberra’s CBD and the Australian War Memorial under 10 minutes drive.
Getting Around:
The apartment comes with security undercover parking for 1 car, but if you prefer public transport, nearby bus services will take you into Canberra CBD (Downtown) in under half an hour.
