This exclusive mountain retreat was originally built by writer and poet Barbara Blackman (whom was previously married to artist Charles Blackman) and her partner Marcel Veldhoven as a nurturing escape.
Evolved from the land itself the home is hand built and integrates a tapestry of textures such as mud bricks, paddock rocks, local timbers and a unique temple like roofline. All this makes Indooroopilly one of the most interesting and individual places in the area.
The home consists of 5 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, plus 2 separate toilets, kitchen, lounge and dining. There is also a large games room/bar within the main house. The games room features a stage, bar and karaoke microphones. This provides a perfect alternative entertaining space or even a conference area. There is complimentary WiFi in the main house and 2 large smart TVs for watching your favourites on Foxtel, Neftlix etc.
The dining room features a large wood burning combustion fire - firewood supplied May to September, and the lounge room features a lovely stone fireplace for a more intimate setting.
Outside there are decks for enjoying a barbeque, relaxing with a book, wildlife and even a cubby house, kids swing set, and an extra large fully fenced pool (BYO pool towels) featuring a spectacular view of the valley and mountain beyond.

Things to note:
* There are video cameras at the entry to the property and Indooroopilly has a strict no party policy. Guests will forfeit their full bond if they do not comply with the Terms and Conditions.
* Guests are not to have additional guests stay overnight at the house during their stay. Only guests registered to stay are authorised to sleep at the property.
Please note, if you need to charge your electric car, please ask permission and there will be a per car charge.
Please note we do not accept any back to back bookings at Indooroopilly. If there are guests checking-in or checking-out backing onto dates you have selected online, we will ask you to move your booking back one day before confirming the details.
- Winter Guests: The firewood supplied at Indooroopilly is for use in the two internal fireplaces only; provided May to September. Should guests want to use the outdoor fire pit they will have to bring their own firewood or pay an additional fee to have access to the firewood supply. (There is a total fire ban at the property from October to March.) Speak with the booking agent about this when making your booking.
